INTERNATIONAL STAFF INFORMATION PAGE Hello! I'm glad that you are here reading this page and that you are interested in working with us this summer. We love to have international staff as a part of our team - it adds to our diversity and abilities in so many positive ways. Please read the .pdf document below for information on the process of coming to work with us at Camp Gifford. It explains the process of applying for a J1 Visa and other pertinent information. J1 Visa Information for Foreign Applicants 2010.pdf After reading through the information if you desire to pursue a position with us you proceed to the Application Page, fill out the application and note in the "any other information..." space (contained on the application) that you have read and understand the "International Applicants" document. After we receive your application we will contact you via email to begin communication. We will check your references (this is much more quickly done by email if you provide email addresses for your referrers) then call for an interview. After the interview you will be informed if we believe you are a good match for our program and we will send an Agreement to you so you can begin the process of getting a Visa. The company we prefer to work with, mostly because they have shown themselves to be so helpful to our past applicants, is Camp Leaders. You can browse their website at www.campleaders.com to read about their program. You would be considered a "Direct Placement" as we would be hiring you directly and using them as a portal for Visa processing. From many countries the amount we are able to reimburse you will likely not cover the expenses you will incur in applying for a Visa and flying to our camp. It will, however, make it much for affordable for you to come to America. Camp Gifford is a strongly conservative Christian camp and our rules and policies reflect that. Please take time to look over our Church Doctrines and some of the Staff Rules so you know a little bit about our expectations before applying. |
